The Battle of Jericho by: Anonymous
The Egyptian pharoah Amenhotep III received the Tel-Amarna letters stating the Habiru (Hebrews) have invaded Canaan. Joshua led the attack against Jericho. How can people claim there was no such battle of Jericho?
Amenhotep III claimed to be the living sun-god at the very time the sun stood still in the sky for almost 24 hours. (Joshua 10:12-13)Amenhotep III sent no troops to help the Canaanites-since he knew the real power of Israel's God.
Thutmose IV had the sand covering the Sphinx removed. A sandstorm from the east wind (Exodus 14:21)had covered the Sphinx. When Thutmose IV was a prince he was promised in a dream kinship if he cleared away the sand. These were the days of Amenhotep II second born son of Thutmose III the pharaoh of the Exodus.
The Tel-Amarna letters arrive over some 40 years after the Exodus at a time when Joshua would attack Jericho.
