The Habiru

The Habiru, also known as Hapiru, were an Asiatic-nomadic people. They were commonly called the "Shepherd Kings" by the ancient people of Ta-Merry/Kemet/Mitsrayim/Egypt. Some scholars believe that the Egyptians may have referenced them by their statements concerning attacks from the "People of the Sea".

Both the references to Habiru as well as "People of the sea" may very well have referred to some tribes of Israelites or Hebrews. Simcha Jacobovici provides some very interesting insight into this theory in his research on decoding the Exodus.
