These two cities, Byblos and Sodom, had trade with Egyptian king Pepi II. Both Byblos and Sodom experienced a devastating earthquake after Pepi II had died.

Sodom was consumed by fire some 20 years after Pepi II died; and Pepi II artifacts are discovered at Byblos.

Pepi II was bi-sexual; Pepi II's first love was his general Sisene.

Pepi II had honey poured over his naked female and male slaves. He had the morals of the people living in Sodom and Gomorrah.

Egypt suffered a plague at the end of Pepi II's reign, whereas the Memphis dynasty fell and the Thebean dynasty arose soon after.
