Melchizedek Confirms Abram's Blessing with Bread and Wine

Genesis 14:18 And Melchizedek, the king of Salem and a priest of God Most High, brought Abram some bread and wine.

It is this passage that God gives His blessing to Abram, to be his guardian and protector, by the gifting of bread and wine.

Melchizedek could have confirmed his blessing by anointing Abram with oil, but instead he chose bread and wine. This a direct reference to Jesus reaffirming His covenant at the Last Supper. So Genesis 14:18 points the way as Jesus as the High Priest from the order of Melchizedek, not from the line of Aaron's descendants. Also Psalm 110:4 makes reference to a priest who will last forever, from the order of Melchizedek. And that High Priest is fulfilled though Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Melchizedek Confirms Abram's Blessing with Bread and Wine
by: Mbua

Christ is related to Aaron: marriage wise. Elisheba, Aaron's wife, was from the tribe of Judah.

Elisheba (Elizabeth), John's mother, was a daughter of Aaron. Mariam, Christ's mother was related to this Elisheba, a Levite.

Christ was a Levite and from Judah on this score: at the same time.

He was qualified as a High Priest as a direct relative to Aaron by Aaron's wife Elisheba; at the same time from Judah by blood; and then by Joseph, his earthly father, by Law.
