Is Mankind Descended from the 12 Tribes of Israel?

A Jewish friend of mine stated that all of mankind was descended from the twelve tribes of Israel? I don't understand how that could be true. If we all are literally descended from Adam and Eve, I suppose that in a way we would all be Jewish?

But what about the pagan religions which surrounded the Jew? Were the Assyrians, the Canaanites, and others from the lost tribes?

according to genesis 26 v4 :
I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven, and will give your descendants all these lands; and by your descendants all the nations of the earth shall be blessed;
I believe that the 12 months of the year derived from the sons of jacob, which make sense to me eg if you were born between September and October, you are a levite, from october to november that is Dan's tribe, November to December is Asher's tribe and so on.
The levites are very fair people in the natare and they get along with everyone, according to the bible,during the matching order, the were in the centre and God was pleased with them.

Absolutely not but we are all related.
Adam was created first and Eve was created from Adam. They had sons and daughters. The sons and daughters married one another. All the people that existed at the time of the flood were descendants of Adam. Then there were 8 aboard the ark. Noah, Shem, Ham, Japheth, and their wives.So we are all related to Noah who was a descendant of Adam.
The Israelites are descendants of Shem. Gentiles are not descendants of Israelites. I guess some of us can be. Israelites are known to stray but are supposed to stay within their own line.
It is said the church is related to Abraham, figuratively, for he is the "Father of Faith." Also, figuratively, Jesus is of the tribe of Judah. When we become one with him it is an adoption of sort. Meaning we become of the tribe of Judah. And as I said, these are figurative.
But no, the world is not descendants of Israel.
Actually, of the three sons of Noah, it would be more likely Japheth that we are descended from.
Gen 9:25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
{Canaan is the sinful son of Ham and represents ungodly}
Gen 9:26 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem {Represents Jesus who would be born through descendants of Shem, meaning Israelites}; and Canaan shall be his servant.
Gen 9:27 God shall enlarge Japheth {represents Gentiles and church}, and he shall dwell in the tents {tabernacles}of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
But when it all comes right down to it literally, we are all related. We are born of Adam through generations. (The flesh anyway)
